Ailish has worked in the Irish and international film and TV industry for over a decade, primarily working as head of production and co-producer for Grand Pictures, before forming Deadpan Pictures with Paul Donovan in 2014.
Ailish is in post-production on a six part comedy for RTE 2 and BBC Worldwide written by and starring Alison Spittle. Her feature film Halal Daddy,which is co-written by Mark O’Halloran and Conor McDermottroe who also directs, is released in cinemas this Summer. Halal Daddy is a culture clash, coming of age comedy, starring Nikesh Patel, Colm Meaney, Sarah Bolger and Art Malik. Previously Ailish produced Can’t Cope Won’t Cope, a darkly comic drama series for RTE 2, written by Stefanie Preissner and directed by Cathy Brady, starring Seana Kerlsake (A Date for Mad Mary) and Nika McGuigan (Philomena). Can’t Cope hit Irish screens last Autumn 2016, sold recently to BBC and is with Content Media International for world sales.
Deadpan Pictures is developing a slate of One Hour TV Comedy Drama series’ under a First Look development and distribution deal with Content Media International and also has a comedy development deal with BBC Worldwide. Ailish is developing a feature film with BAFTA winning director Neasa Hardiman (Happy Valley and V).
Ailish is a director of Women in Film and Television Ireland. She is a graduate of TransAtlantic Partners 2013, Eave 2007 and holds a diploma from UCLA in Film Development and a B.Sc. in Film and Broadcasting from DIT.
